Splice Protection Methods

  • Ribbon fiber sleeves: Designed for 8–12 fiber ribbons, using heat-resistant glass or metal reinforcement for multi-fiber protection .
  • Micro sleeves: Compact sleeves for optical components where space is limited, providing reliable protection in small form factors .
  • Outdoor splice closures: Weatherproof enclosures with strain relief and internal fiber management for aerial, underground, or duct installations .

  • Always slide the protection sleeve onto the fiber before performing the fusion splice to avoid breaking the fiber .
