Singtel is constructing DC Tuas, Singapore's largest and highest power density data center, with 58MW capacity and AI-ready, green infrastructure.
Singtel has commenced construction of DC Tuas, an eight-story, 120,000 sq ft facility, which is set to be operational by 2025 . This data center will offer 58MW of IT load capacity, making it the largest in Singapore to date . It is designed with high power density, supporting up to 80kW per rack through advanced liquid cooling, and targets a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.3, reflecting its energy-efficient design .
DC Tuas will be integrated with Singtel's cable landing station, providing direct connections to multiple international submarine cables . This hyper-connected setup ensures low latency, high reliability, and exceptional international and domestic connectivity, positioning Singapore as a key digital hub in the region . The facility is also carrier-neutral, allowing multiple service providers to access its infrastructure .
The data center is designed to support intensive AI workloads, reflecting the growing demand for AI-driven services in Southeast Asia . Sustainability is a core focus, with green design principles, efficient cooling systems, and alignment with Singtel's decarbonization goals . DC Tuas represents Singtel's fourth-generation data center design, combining high performance with environmental responsibility .
The Singapore data center construction market is projected to grow from USD 4.75 billion in 2026 to USD 5.96 billion by 2031, at a CAGR of 4.64% . Tier 3 facilities currently dominate the market, while Tier 4 builds are expanding due to fault-tolerant requirements for financial and trading platforms . Hyperscalers and cloud service providers are increasingly investing in self-build campuses with high-density racks (40–100 kW) to support AI workloads, mirroring Singtel's approach .
Singtel is also developing similar next-generation data centers in Thailand and Indonesia, aiming to increase its total pipeline capacity beyond 200MW . This expansion complements its existing Singapore facilities, which currently have a combined capacity of 62MW . The strategy reflects strong regional demand for high-performance, sustainable, and hyper-connected data centers driven by cloud adoption and AI growth .
DC Tuas exemplifies Singapore's ambition to remain a global digital hub, combining cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and strategic connectivity to meet the region's growing digital infrastructure needs .
