Adding PoE to a Switch

Adding a PoE switch involves selecting the right switch, connecting it to your network, powering devices, and optionally configuring PoE settings.

3. Connect Devices: Plug PoE-enabled devices (IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones) into the switch ports using Cat5e or Cat6 cables .
4. Power the Switch: Connect the switch to an electrical outlet using the correct power adapter .

• Access the switch's web interface or CLI.
• Enable PoE on the ports connected to your devices if it is not already active .
• Set power limits per port if needed to prevent overloads .
• Monitor PoE status to ensure devices are receiving power correctly .

Step 4: Verify Operation

• Check that all connected devices power on and function properly.
• Observe port LEDs and system logs for any PoE errors or power allocation issues .
